Piqua High School Performing Groups Do Well At The OMEA District XI Large Group Adjudicated Event.
3/14/2010: The Piqua Music Department had a great weekend! The Piqua High School Men's Chorus received 4 straight superior ratings, qualifying for the OMEA State Large Group Event. The Women's Chorus and Concert choir both receive Excellent ratings. The Piqua High School Symphonic Band received also received an overall Excellent rating with one adjudicator awarding the band with a Superior rating. This is the highest rating the Piqua Symphonic Band have received since the band starting participating in the event in 2005.
The Company Wins 4th Consecutive Grand Championship Of The Season!
For the first time in the group's history, The Company, Piqua High School's show choir, has won its 4th consecutive grand championship. The victory came at Twinsburg High School on February 27, 2010. The Company swept all performance categories during preliminary competition. This feat did not go unnoticed by the community, where a police escort was waiting at the Piqua exit off Interstate 75 to take the choir/instrumental combo/and crew to the Miami Valley Centre Mall where a community rally was held in their honor.
OMEA Large Group Performances are upcoming
Piqua High School's performing ensembles will be performing this weekend at the Ohio Music Education Association large group adjudicated event. All performances will take place at Bellefontaine High School.
