Mr. Scottie Moore, Assistant Director of Bands
Duties: The "Pride Of Piqua" Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Piqua High School Pep Band, AP Music Theory, Bennett Intermediate 5th Grade Band, Bennett Intermediate 6th Grade Band, Washington Intermediate 5th Grade Band, Washington Intermediate 6th Grade Band, Wilder Intermediate 5th Grade Band, Wilder Intermediate 6th Grade Band
Mr. Moore is originally from Xenia, Ohio. Upon receiving the Bachelor of Music Education degree from Miami University, Mr. Moore served in the capacity of Director of Bands in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, Wilmington City School District, and the Ohio Valley Local School District. During this time, small and large ensembles under his direction received superior ratings at Ohio Music Education Association adjudicated events. Mr. Moore then attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville for graduate studies. During his time there, he was deeply involved in every aspect of the band program there. Mr. Moore received the Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting degree in 2008. Shortly thereafter, he began teaching in Piqua. This is Mr. Moore's second year in Piqua. He lives in Piqua with his wife, Jessica, son, Evan, dog, Koko, and cat, Duke.
Mr. Moore's primary conducting teachers are Gary Speck and Gary Sousa. His primary trumpet teacher is James Olcott.
Mr. Moore holds memberships in the Ohio Music Education Association, Music Educators National Conference, National Band Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Professional Music Fraternity. Mr. Moore was also selected to Pi Kappa Lambda, a national music honor society, in 2008.
